Flights to Fiji Islands Fiji is served by three major international airlines and several smaller regional airlines. Air New Zealand (Star Alliance member), Air Pacific (Fiji's national airline) and Pacific Blue (Virgin) are the major carriers into the country. Air Pacific operates seat-sharing with Qantas and American Airlines for which frequent flyer points can be earned and used. Pacific Blue offer bargain deals from Australia and forced costs down when they started operating in 2004. Air New Zealand and Air Pacific offer most routes including daily flights to and from Australia and New Zealand, with direct flights from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and Christchurch. For North America / Europe travellers, Air New Zealand offer its daily service from London via Los Angeles and then either to direct to Fiji or stopping en route via Tahiti and the Cook Islands. The latter enables stop-over fares, usually with one or two Pacific destinations en route to either New Zealand or Australia. Air Pacific also operate 3 direct flights a week between Fiji and Los Angeles and 2 flights a week from Vancouver via Hawaii. Air Pacific also fly direct to Tokyo twice a week. Regional connections to Vanuatu, Tonga and Samoa are offered by Air Pacific. Aircalin fly from Fiji to New Caledonia and Wallis & Futuna, whilst Solomon Air fly direct from Fiji to Vanuatu and Solomon Islands. Two local airlines operate within Fiji and fly to 15 different islands, the more popular destinations on a regular daily service.
